The Moravian-Silesian Region (the founder of the library) is not able to finance the building on its own, so it will search for a new solution. The new building of the Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava, contributory organization will be situated ­opposite to the House of Culture at the 28. října Street. The Moravian-Silesian Region (the founder of the library) is an investor of this building. According to its authors Ladislav Kuba and Tomáš Pilař, the dark and translucent cube symbolizes "a box of human knowledge". It is designed for 2.000.000 volumes which is a double of present number.
