The book launching of “Bibliography of Karviná District”


On 6th February 2004, the b­ook called Bibliography of Karviná District was festively christened by Evzen Tosenovsky (the President of the Moravian-Silesian Region) in the Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava. This book was created by Marta Ohnoutkova, Michaela Kubeckova and Monika Oravova and was published with the support of the Moravian-Silesian Region programme ("Literature and Journalism") and with the help of the bookshop of LIBREX.

Bibliography of Karviná District including more than 8.000 records was published as a part of the series called "Bibliografie a prameny k vývoji Moravy a Slezska". Publications of this series have a uniform layout. They are published at the initiative of the Muzejní a vlastivědná společnost Brno (Museum Society Brno) and with its co-operation.

The book contains bibliographic records covering all available literature that was published about Karviná region before 31st December 2000. It includes books and articles dealing with history, politics, economy, culture and society of this region. The data were taken from the electronic database of Retrospective Regional Bibliography of Karviná Region that was created by the Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava (with the financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic). This database is available at Retrospective Bibliography of Karviná Region.
