| Digital Library of the Moravian-Silesian Region | The Digital Library of the Moravian-Silesian Region contains the digitized documents important for the cultural, social, economic, political and religious history of the Moravian-Silesian Region. They include mostly periodicals and books published in the 19th century and in the 1st half of the 20th century. The documents are preserved in various memory institutions (archives, museums and libraries) of the region. The digital library consists of more than 100,000 pages and is being updated regularly. |

The database of Retrospective Regional Bibliography of Karviná was created by the Moravian-Silesian Research Library in Ostrava, contributory organisation. This project was supported by the
Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic. The database enables you to search information about all available literature that was published about Karviná region (before 31st December 2000).
It contains bibliographic records of books and articles dealing with history, politics, economy, culture and society of this region. The database was printed as well - it was published as a part of the series called "Bibliografie a prameny k vývoji Moravy a Slezska". You can use various fields to search information resources - it is possible to search by author, title, source, keyword, Universal Decimal Classification, event or regional classification. More than one field can be filled in. As far as the regional classification is concerned, historical names of towns and villages are used - so you can find for example mentions of Bludovice (part of Havířov at present) if you write either Bludovice or Havířov. |
